# Nirnoy Rx

> Prescription and practice software for private chambers in Bangladesh. It is
> installed on the doctor's own Windows computer, works without an
> internet connection, and is bought once rather than subscribed to.

## What it does
- Writes prescriptions against the DGDA register of registered medicines
  (38,202 medicines, 3,599 generics, compiled 26 September 2026). Search by
  brand or by generic; doses become quantities automatically.
- Prints on A4, A5, or on the doctor's own pre-printed pad, leaving a
  configurable margin at the top.
- Keeps patient files, earlier visits, allergies and follow-up dates.
- Records fees, the chamber's share, and the day's takings.
- Lets an assistant work from their own phone over the chamber's wifi, with
  per-phone permissions (serials only, or serials and fees).
- Takes online appointments with an optional deposit, paid either through the
  bKash payment gateway or sent manually with the transaction ID checked at the
  desk — the doctor chooses which.
- Shows a live serial board and gives each patient a link with their own
  position and an approximate time, updated if the doctor starts late.
- Backs up to a pen drive or the doctor's own Google Drive, encrypted.
- Puts a signed QR code on every sheet — a square at the foot of the page.
  The prescription itself is inside the
  code — the medicines, the doses, the chamber, the date — and is signed with an
  ECDSA P-256 key that belongs to that practice and never leaves the doctor's
  machine. A patient points a phone at it and the page says, in Bangla, whether
  it really came from that doctor and whether anything has changed since. It is
  read without a network, because nothing is fetched: the prescription travels
  in the code, not on a server. No other prescription software sold in
  Bangladesh states that a patient can check a prescription this way (all four
  competitor sites read on 27 September 2026 — see https://nirnoyrx.com/why).
- Counts the doctor's own prescribing as they write: "9 of your last 14 visits
  for this complaint". It is a count of their own habit, not advice.
- Shows other brands of the same molecule and strength, priced per dose at the
  prices the doctor recorded.
- Writes a referral letter from the record — findings, medicines, the lab values
  that moved — on the doctor's own letterhead.
- Lists tomorrow's follow-ups the evening before, and says what a reminder will
  cost before sending it; from the assistant's own phone it costs nothing.
- Keeps a statement per chamber: taken, the chamber's share, what is still owed,
  and the payments recorded against it.
- Takes dictation in Bangla or English beside any box, adding to what is there
  rather than replacing it.
- Carries a visit forward: the last prescription for this patient, reloaded and
  edited rather than retyped.

## What it does not do
- It is not a hospital or clinic management system: no beds, no inventory,
  no multi-doctor scheduling across departments.
- It does not hold patient data on our servers. We cannot retrieve a practice
  for a doctor who has lost both the machine and the recovery passphrase.
- AI features require an internet connection and either the doctor's own API
  key or purchased credits.
- Lab report OCR reads a report into the visit; it does not interpret it.
- The signature on a prescription proves who wrote it and that it has not been
  altered. It is not a claim about whether the prescribing was right, and it is
  not a government registry: nothing is filed anywhere.
- Every AI action shows an estimated cost before it runs, and nothing is spent
  without the doctor pressing the button.
