The patient card first, if the hospital asks
A hospital may now ask for its patient card before an outpatient is served: the counter issues it on the spot, and a manager can allow a patient without one for the day. Outpatients’ tests and imaging now default to paid after, as at a diagnostic centre.

When the update period ends the software does not stop: the version you have keeps working for good. The drug register arrives separately, so newly registered medicines keep reaching you either way.
