The mortuary

Questions

What hospitals ask

Can it certify a death that happened elsewhere?
No. Only a patient admitted here, seen in this emergency, or born here is certified here.
Does the certificate go to the government register?
No. It is the hospital’s certificate, not the registration certificate — and it says so. The family takes it to the birth and death registrar (union parishad, paurashava or city corporation) to register.
