Outpatients (OPD) — step by step

Who does the work at each step, and what the software does. Press a step to stop on it.

  1. 1 Booking Desk, phone or website A serial or a time in the doctor’s sitting; the number and time by SMS; numbers kept apart for walk-ins.
  2. 2 Arrival and the fee Desk and counter Marked arrived; the visit billed by the doctor’s rules — new or follow-up; paid before the visit where the hospital asks it.
  3. 3 Called in Doctor or desk “Call next” — the number goes up on the television and is announced; one still to pay keeps their number and waits.
  4. 4 The prescription Doctor In the doctor’s own Nirnoy Rx; then tests at the counter and medicines at the pharmacy.

The desk’s day

Every doctor’s day in one list

Doctor by doctor: each number, its time, the patient, new or follow-up, where the booking came from — the website, the telephone or the desk — and where they stand: booked, arrived, seen or did not come. Book, move, cancel, print the serial slip or text the number, from the row.

  • Scan the patient card and the name and mobile fill in
  • Numbers kept for walk-ins; online booking closes when the hospital says
  • Payment in advance online if wanted, to the hospital’s own bKash or SSLCommerz account

Calling in

The next patient called in turn — once the fee is paid

“Call next” calls the lowest number that has arrived — and, where the hospital takes the fee first, has paid; the one called before is taken as gone in. “Call again” or “Not here” for one who does not come. The waiting room’s television shows the number and announces it with a chime, and spoken in Bangla or English where it can.

  • The television shows numbers, never names
  • One still to pay keeps their number and is called once paid
  • The doctor calls from their own phone, or the desk does it for them

Questions

What hospitals ask

Do doctors keep writing in their own Nirnoy Rx?
Yes. It is linked to the hospital with a one-time link. While the hospital takes the fee at its counter, the doctor’s app takes none for that chamber, and the doctor decides whether the hospital sees that chamber’s totals.
Must patients pay before they see the doctor?
Only if the hospital chooses so. Each service is paid before it or after it on the same visit — the hospital’s own rule. A manager may let a patient go ahead, with a reason.
When is the follow-up fee charged?
When the patient returns to the same doctor within the days that doctor sets — 30 to begin with. Each doctor has their own new and follow-up fees.
Can patients book or cancel online?
They can book from the hospital’s website until booking closes for each sitting. Each doctor decides whether patients may cancel themselves, and until how many hours before the sitting.
