Lab reports to the doctor’s own app
The centre’s approved, paid reports straight into the doctor’s Nirnoy Rx — linking, outside doctors, the patient’s consent and its slip, the relay mailbox, and what happens offline.
A patient has the tests done and then goes back to the doctor just to show the report. With the doctor’s Nirnoy Rx linked to the centre, the report of the tests that doctor ordered reaches their app by itself, into the patient’s file, once approved and paid. The doctor reads it there and, if needed, writes a prescription and sends the patient a link.
Which doctors get them
- The centre’s own doctors — those with an OPD chamber here: in an OPD department, or with a sitting here. They always can.
- Outside doctors linked through Nirnoy Rx — only if the administrator switches it on. It starts off.
- The administrator opens the Consent: the report to the doctor’s own app card on the Security page.
- Tick Also send reports to outside doctors linked through Nirnoy Rx. Each change is written in the log.
Linking the doctor’s app
- For an outside doctor, first add them on the Doctors page — the name is enough, no sitting needed.
- On the doctor’s row press Link their Nirnoy Rx. A link is made that works once, for seven days. With online access (the relay) on, it works from anywhere; without it, only on this network.
- Give the link to the doctor — in person, on WhatsApp or by email. In their own Nirnoy Rx they open Doctor & chambers, choose the chamber at this centre, paste the link under A Nirnoy Rx centre, and leave Receive the lab reports of tests I referred here on.
- Once linked, the doctor’s row shows Their Nirnoy Rx is linked and when it was last heard from, with how many reports have gone, how many wait, and how many are held for want of the patient’s yes.
The patient’s consent
When the doctor who ordered the tests is chosen at registration, and their app takes reports, a small box appears at the counter: may the report go straight to the doctor’s app? The patient reads it on the screen or has it read out. The answer: Agrees, Says no, or Not asked now. With no answer, no report goes.
- Asking later, or changing it: press the chip shown when the patient is chosen (Report to doctor). Yes, no or a withdrawal can be written there, with how they answered and who witnessed it.
- The printed slip (optional): Print the slip to sign — the statement with the patient’s, the doctor’s and the centre’s names, boxes for agree and do not agree, and room for the patient’s and the staff witness’s signature or thumbprint. Once signed, record the answer as Signed the printed slip or Thumbprint on the printed slip, and keep the slip on file. Beside any earlier answer, Print a copy — in exactly the words the patient was shown.
- The wording can be changed by the administrator on the Security page, in Bangla and English; the counter uses new wording only once it is marked reviewed by the lawyer. Each answer keeps the exact words shown at the time.
When a report goes
A report is made ready for a doctor only when all of these hold:
- The tests were ordered by that doctor — written as the referrer, or given on the centre’s own OPD prescription. A doctor never gets another doctor’s tests.
- The patient agreed, and the doctor may receive reports (above).
- Every test on the invoice is approved (verified).
- The invoice is fully paid. A manager’s leave to owe, or a partner’s bill, is not payment; a corporate panel’s promise counts as paid, but the patient’s own share must be paid.
If the payment or the yes comes later, the report is made then. A corrected result goes again, in place of the earlier one. If the patient withdraws, whatever has not yet reached the doctor is held back; what already reached them stays with them.
How a report travels
- The report first waits for the doctor on the centre’s own computer (the outbox).
- While the doctor’s app is open and online it asks for new reports every ten minutes, and at once when the doctor presses Check now. The question and the answer go through the relay, locked; a doctor’s computer on the centre’s own network can also reach it directly.
- The doctor’s app puts each report with the right patient by mobile and name. Where it is not sure, the report waits on the Lab reports page for the doctor to say whose it is.
- Once kept, the app says so; only then does the centre mark the report delivered and let its own copy go.
The relay mailbox: even while the centre’s computer is off
On the way above, both ends must be online at the same moment. With the centre’s computer off or its internet down, the doctor would wait. So, with the relay on, as soon as a report may go the centre’s computer also leaves it, locked, in that doctor’s mailbox at the relay. The doctor’s app looks in the mailbox first every time — and the report arrives even while the centre is off.
- The mailbox is at the relay, but the relay cannot read anything: the report is locked under the key only the centre and that doctor’s app hold. The mailbox’s name and its passwords are made from that key too.
- Only the centre, through its own relay connection, can leave reports there, and only that doctor’s app can take them.
- Taken by the doctor’s app, it is deleted from the mailbox at once. Untaken, the relay deletes it after 14 days; if it still has not arrived, the centre leaves it again after 12.
- If the patient withdraws, a report still waiting untaken in the mailbox is taken back by the centre.
- A report that comes both ways is still kept only once in the doctor’s file.
- For this the centre needs online access (the relay) on. A cloud copy needs no mailbox — it can always be reached.
Offline
- The doctor offline: nothing is lost. Reports wait at the centre and in the mailbox; the next time the app is online, they all come.
- What has already come is on the doctor’s own computer: it can be read, reviewed and prescribed from with no internet.
- The centre offline: reports already left in the mailbox still arrive. Reports approved while the centre is offline go to the mailbox when its internet is back.
- The centre hears the doctor’s “kept” the next time the two meet; until then the report may show as waiting at the centre.
When a report has not arrived
| What you see | Why, and what to do |
|---|---|
| Held for want of the yes | The patient said no or withdrew. Ask again from the patient’s chip. |
| No report made at all | Check that the invoice is fully paid, every test approved, and the right doctor written as the one who ordered them. |
| “Not sent” beside the link | The doctor has no OPD chamber here and outside doctors are off. Switch the setting on, or give them a sitting. |
| The doctor has not switched reports on | The doctor turns on receiving reports for that chamber in their own app. |
| Not heard from for days | The doctor’s app is closed or offline. Reports wait in the mailbox for up to 14 days, and at the centre until they arrive. |
| An old link | A link from before 2.17 cannot carry reports: give a new link. |
