The share register and profit shares

Who owns the hospital — its doctors, people from outside, companies — each one’s shares and capital, shares issued and transferred, and profit shares declared and paid, all in the books.

The share register

Accounts › Share register: each shareholder’s shares, their part of all issued, the capital they paid and any profit share still to pay. It belongs to the accountant and the owner.

  • New shareholder: one of the hospital’s doctors, a person from outside or a company; their mobile, national ID or registration number, and where their profit share is paid.
  • Issue shares: how many and the capital paid (at face value if left empty), into which account; the capital goes into the books by itself. Where there is a limit on shares, no more are issued.
  • Transfer shares: from one holder to another; the capital paid for them goes with them, and nothing moves in the hospital’s books.
  • A shareholder doctor’s OPD contract shows the shares they hold and their part.

Profit shares

  1. Declare a profit share: the sum to share out, the record day, and the period it is for. It is split to the paisa by the shares each held at the end of the record day.
  2. Each holder’s part is owed to them until paid: from Profit kept to Dividends to pay.
  3. Pay: from which account, and any tax deducted at source — written by hand; no rate is assumed. Print the voucher from the shareholder’s statement.
An issue or a payment in error is never deleted: it is voided by its mirror image, saying why. The register prints in Bangla or English.
