Day to day

Medical certificates

Sick leave, fit to resume, a medical certificate and fit to travel — written from the record, numbered and kept.

On the prescription screen press Letters, then Medical certificate. The patient’s name, age, sex, guardian, the day of the examination and today’s diagnosis come from the record; you fill in only what this one is for.

Four kinds

  • Sick leave — the day the rest starts and how many days; the last day is worked out for you.
  • Fit to resume — when the illness started and ended, and from which day they can go back, and to what.
  • Medical certificate — for a job, an admission or a licence; the height, weight, BP, pulse and blood group can be added from the record.
  • Fit to travel — the mode of travel and the destination; for a pregnant patient, the weeks and the expected date of delivery too.

The page on the right is the page that prints, and it changes as you type. A certificate can be printed in English or in Bangla, whatever language the app is in.

Numbered, signed and kept

Pressing Write and number it gives the certificate a number — C-2026-0001, say — and keeps it on the patient’s file. It prints on your letterhead, pad mode and all, with your name, degrees and BMDC number under the signature.

Once printed, a certificate cannot be changed — only written again. If an office rings to ask whether one is genuine, the number is how you find it.

The patient’s earlier certificates are listed under the form; Open one to print it again.
