Day to day
Seeing a patient online
A patient seen by video or voice from home, with the prescription written on the pad as usual and sent to his phone.
A patient who cannot come in — far away, elderly, or only bringing a report to show you — can be seen from home. He calls from the same link his serial gave him, your desk says who is calling, and you press Answer.
What you need
- A camera and a microphone on your computer. A laptop usually has both.
- The relay switched on in Settings — the patient is coming from the outside internet, not the chamber wifi.
- A serial for the patient. An online visit is a serial like any other.
How it goes
- The patient opens the link that came with his serial and presses Start.
- His phone asks permission for the camera and microphone. There is a voice-only button for a weak connection.
- A green line appears at the top of your desk — “Serial 7 is calling”. Press Answer.
- Afterwards write the prescription on the pad as you always do. Send to the patient puts it on his phone.
Where the conversation goes
Nowhere. The picture and the sound go straight from the patient’s phone to your computer — not to our servers, and not through the relay. The relay carries only the two opening messages that say where each side is. Nothing is recorded, nothing is stored, and we hold no list of who spoke to whom.
If the call will not connect
Some mobile networks will not allow a direct connection. After twenty seconds both sides are told so plainly; ring the patient instead — his number is on the serial. Trying again on wifi often works.
What it is not
This is not a marketplace. Patients do not find you through us, and we take nothing from your fee — make as many calls as you like, at no cost beyond the licence.
If this page did not get you there, write to support — tell us where it stopped making sense and we will fix the page too.
