Emergency and referral

Arrivals and triage, the emergency note, admit or refer, the referral letter and the ambulance.

1. In Emergency write the arrival — red, yellow or green triage. A red arrival tells the doctor on duty at once.
2. The doctor writes the emergency note: complaints, findings, provisional diagnosis, treatment given and outcome — home, admit, refer…
3. On referral the referral letter is drafted from the note; with the reason and condition written, it prints when signed.
4. Ask for an ambulance tells the ambulance desk; an emergency at once.
