Infection control
Isolation, lines and tubes with their days, hospital-acquired infections reported, hand hygiene and the month’s rates.

- The doctor sets isolation from the stay — contact, droplet, airborne or protective — with the reason; it shows on the bed and the nurses are told.
- Nurses record central lines, catheters, ventilators and cannulas in and out.
- A suspected infection is reported from the ward; only the infection control team confirms or rules it out.
- In Infection control the team watches hand hygiene by the WHO’s five moments, and sees the month’s rates — per 1,000 device days.
